ROAD CLOSURES

Shortland Street (at the intersection of Queen Street), central city, between 7.30pm and 6am on Monday, 8 March to Thursday, 11 March to carry out reconstruction work on the carriageway. Detours will be signposted. For more information, phone Eddie Hayman on 926 0000 or 0274 505 484.

Mahuhu and Te Taou crescents, central city, between 6pm and 11pm daily on Friday, 12 March for the Pixies concert, and Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 March for the Lady Gaga concerts at Vector Arena. Tangihua Street (between Beach Road and Quay Street) and Tapora Street (between Mahuhu Crescent and Quay Street) will also be closed after the events for approximately 20 minutes to help with crowd dispersal.

Wolfe Street (between Hobson and Albert streets) and Federal Street (between Swanson and Fanshawe streets) between 7am and noon, and Queen Street (between Mayoral Drive and Wakefield Street), central city, between noon and 1pm to assist with crowd and float dispersal on Saturday, 13 March for the St Patrick's Day Parade.

Ports of Auckland Round the Bays Road Closures


The following roads, from central city to St Heliers, will be closed for the Ports of Auckland Round the Bays on Sunday, 14 March. 5am to 1pm – Quay Street (Tangihua Street to The Strand).
6am to 1pm – Quay Street (Lower Albert Street to The Strand), Tangihua and Tapora streets, Mahuhu and Te Taou crescents, The Strand (Gladstone Road to Tamaki Drive), Tamaki Drive (The Strand to Goldie Street), The Parade (Tamaki Drive to Goldie Street) and Goldie Street. Access will also be restricted to and from Solent, Hapimana, Tinley, Tooley and Plumer streets.
Access for residents and businesses in Tangihua and Tapora streets will be maintained from Beach Road only. Access for trucks into Tinley, Tooley and Plumer streets and the Ports (from The Strand) will be maintained as long as possible.
Parking restrictions will also be in place throughout the route and in roads surrounding Vellenoweth Green, Glover Park and Madills Farm Recreation Reserve.
