City Rail Link (CRL) Works – New Bus Lanes for Queen Street

Keeping the city moving to support business during the CRL works is a key objective for Auckland Transport. Acknowledging that there will be added pressure on the city centre's road network as a result of construction on the CRL, and considerable private development, Auckland Transport are actively encouraging commuters to consider using public transport, freeing up the roads to service business.

To ensure that public transport runs efficiently over this time, a number of new bus lanes, changes to bus stops, removal of some parking and traffic lane changes will occur during construction. Phase 1 of these works are been rolled out in September and October, and more information about the location of these bus lanes is available here.

Auckland Transport are now inviting feedback on Phase 2 of these planned changes, to be implemented in April next year. This includes bus lanes on Queen Street and changes to bus services and locations in and around Britomart and Albert Street, as shown in the map below.

Direct communications have been sent to property owners and businesses in the affected areas. If you are a business or property owner in the area, or are interested to find out more, a copy of that letter is available here.
