Research & advocacy
The corner stone of Heart of the City is advocacy and lobbying. We regularly lobby on behalf of businesses, on key issues that impact the economic success of the CBD. We are not shy about speaking out when it comes to the future of our city. We also take a key interest in understanding our CBD, and to that end we publish and/or procure a range of research that identifies business trends in the CBD.

We actively get involved in opportunities to represent business interests on the future shaping of the city. We seek feedback from our members to inform our position.

We also represent CBD Business interests as a member of the CBD Board. The CBD Board is an advisory body with a special interest in the overall success of the CBD. You can find out more information about the CBD Board here...
We actively support a number of projects that will contribute to developing a sense of place in the city, and ulimately to a more successful city centre. One of the projects that we are taking an active interest in is the walking and cycling pathway across the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
