That it is rich in culture and heritage, Aucklanders are proud of their city centre and visitors regard it as a must see destination. Where the ideas, optimism and adaptability from a growing population ensure a successful city centre for business.
With a city centre that is undergoing significant change and that is growing, it is critical that change can be managed well, with the growth leading to prosperity. Our strategic priorities for the coming three years have been developed by what will most contribute to business success leading up to 2021.

- A unique 24/7 experience. A sense that there is always something around the corner across the retail, services and hospitality mix, and that the profile of Auckland increases as a destination
- A physically distinct Auckland city centre and waterfront, which is designed and developed to suit the needs of people, both now and for future generations.
- Easy and affordable to get in, out and around. Business success will be supported by more foot traffic, across the whole city centre.
- A strong community that is welcoming, safe and clean. The city is a cherished place, where people and their needs are looked after.
