Promoting and activating businesses and the city

We promote the heart of the city as a destination, showcasing the city’s breadth and diversity with marketing campaigns and digital activity across the year. Find out more about the strategy behind marketing Auckland’s city centre, and who the different stakeholders are here.

Marketing the city centre as a destination

We work to promote the city as a great place to spend time through our destination marketing programme

Promoting events, hospitality, retail, arts and more

We spread the word about what’s on and what’s new in the city centre through heartofthecity.co.nz, the weekly Central City Guide e-mail, Facebook and Instagram.

If your business is in one of the consumer categories we feature, make sure your web listing details (contacts, hours, description and at least 3 high res photos) are up to date and that you let us know about any event announcements, new openings, special offers and interesting stories by emailing us here.

Events highlighting the best of the city

We encourage spending and visitation and build the city centre’s reputation as the best place in Auckland for dining, retail and arts & culture with annual events that hero our businesses in these areas - American Express Restaurant Month, Artweek in the city centre and Christmas in the city centre.

A directory for all businesses

All businesses in the heart of the city can be listed in the hotcity.co.nz business directory, which gives visibility with your clients and online search. Check to see if your listing is up to date and log in or contact us if you want to make changes to any details or contacts.
