Hectors Restaurant caters for all manner of dietary requirements, paying particular attention to the needs of vegetarians and vegans. We have recently introduced an initiative to promote healthy dining for our customers and sustainable practices for the planet. The majority of produce is sourced within a 50-kilometre radius, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting local farmers and suppliers. Hectors Restaurant is the very first New Zealand restaurant to achieve Vegan Certification by a new scheme created by the New Zealand Vegetarian Society.
In addition, both Hectors Restaurant and the Lobby Bar have launched new menus that are entirely plant-based; resulting in nutritious meals that are free of cholesterol and low in saturated fat, but high in fibre and nutrients. Such commitment to this new approach sees a section of the kitchen declared entirely animal-product free, right through to the coffee machine using only non-dairy mylks.
