Auckland Council is regenerating midtown with new public spaces and improved infrastructure, ready to welcome the thousands of people that will flow in and out of the area daily when Te Waihorotiu Station (Aotea) opens.

To support businesses in the area of construction, a small business support programme is in place Progress AKL: Supporting businesses

Key Projects include:

Te Hā Noa - Victoria Street Project

This project is transforming Victoria Street to create a thriving space for movement, rest, and recreation. Expected to be finished by 2025. More information can be found here

This project is creating a vibrant, people-friendly Queen Street. More information can be found here

Myers Park Underpass

Creating an inviting, safe and accessible entrance to Myers Park from the city. More information can be found here

Federal Street upgrade

A safer, more pedestrian and cycle-friendly shared space on Federal Street. More information can be found here

Wellesley Street Bus Improvements
