Calling all city centre restaurants – Join us for Restaurant Month in the Heart of the City from 1 - 31 August 2021

Auckland's biggest dining event is back to celebrate its eleventh year in 2021! This iconic event will once again showcase the best of the city centre’s restaurant scene across 31 days of incredible dining experiences.

The event is exclusive to the city centre and FREE to take part in. If your business is not already a Heart of the City member you can sign up here now.

Restaurant Month in the Heart of the City is designed to support the restaurant sector over the quieter winter months, increasing dining activity and spending and building the profile of the city centre as a dining destination.

At Restaurant Month's core are special menu offers at 3 price points - $25, $40 and $55+

Registrations and menu submissions are open now, until Friday 28 May.

MENU REQUIREMENTS:

  • Dine in only
  • Good value and exclusive to Restaurant Month – strong offers may be selected to be highlighted in social channels and the marketing campaign
  • Available for the whole of August
  • Businesses open for dinner must offer a dinner menu first, lunch is an optional extra
  • Minimum of 2 courses = entrée + main / main + dessert / entrée + main + dessert
  • Maximum of 3 options for each course
  • Include a drink match - a relevant wine or beverage of your choice
    • Can be included in the set price or listed as a recommendation
    • Wine matches must be from one of our official Restaurant Month wine partners - to be released soon!
  • Priced on per person basis
  • If any of your courses are gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan, please add (GF), (V) or (VG) at the end of each description

Restaurant events

An event schedule will be developed and promoted alongside the menu offers, with a focus on local talent in the city centre. If you would like to participate in the event schedule by hosting and managing your own event, please contact the Restaurant Month team at Lemongrass Productions.

Social Hour: a new opportunity for Restaurant Month 2021

New to this year's Restaurant Month is a happy hour concept designed for both bars with a great food menu and restaurants with an amazing bar area. We're asking venues to craft a special Restaurant Month food and beverage match at a price point of $40 for 2 people to showcase their unique style of hospitality.

COVID-19 contingency plan

Menu offers can take place at Level 1 or Level 2 (at Level 2 guidelines including seated, single server and spacing). Restaurant Month events can also take place at Level 1 or 2 within COVID guidelines including a capacity limit of a maximum of 100 people.
