beautify your city
Heart of the City and Auckland Council partnered to develop the Beautify Your City project. The idea behind the project was to come up with a creative way of improving the cleanliness of the city's streets, and educate businesses about rubbish and recycling in the city. The campaign saw central CBD businesses and residents be given a promotional pack containing specially printed rubbish and recycling bags and information on all you need to know about rubbish in the inner CBD.The usual red, general rubbish bags were replaced by purple pansy decorated bags and the clear plastic recycling bags replaced by green hedge deocorated bags.
General rubbish, recycling, paper and cardboard collection times in the inner CBD are:
Mon-Sat 5pm - 5.30pm
Everyday Midnight - 4am
