The Wynyard Quarter bridge has reopened and it’s time to enjoy a magic trifecta

Heart of the City research shows that when you mix the waterfront with events and dining, it’s a hit with Aucklanders. So, it’s big news that the sorely missed Te Wero Wynyard Crossing bridge is back in action from today, just in time for a summer with great events and improved access to some of Auckland’s best hospitality offerings.

Viv Beck, Heart of the City, Chief Executive says that “Our research tells us that Aucklanders love the city centre’s waterfront, and Wynyard Quarter is one of the jewels in this crown. There are already many reasons for people to visit the area such as great bars and restaurants, and as we look ahead over the next few months, the event calendar for the Quarter will make a visit even more appealing. This includes everything from Sail GP in January, the Z Manu World Champs in February & March and a Six60 gig in March, as well as a new outdoor pool.”

Beck says that “There’s nowhere else in Auckland where you can experience such an interesting range of events in a glorious setting.  What Wynyard Quarter offers is pretty special. Having the bridge unavailable for so long has been extremely frustrating for many people and it’s had a big impact for businesses in the area.  It’s a huge relief that it’s operating again.”
