Ensuring the city centre remains a vibrant, enjoyable and safe place for people is important for the success of the city. This is a top priority for us.
Our Safety Team:
Security patrols are operating in Queen Street and surrounding areas to support a safer public environment. They will de-escalate issues, and escalate to Police when necessary

Delivered by Auckland Council and co-funded by Heart of the City. The on-street team undertakes proactive patrols to support a safe city centre in line with Auckland’s bylaws, including the Signs and Public Safety and Nuisance Bylaws.
They can help with obstructions of pathways or in front of building entrances, intimidating behaviour, aggressive begging, encampments and excessively noisy buskers/those that perform for longer than 60 minutes.
