Marketing, event and activation opportunities for businesses

We offer businesses, property owners and managers opportunities to get involved in our marketing, event and activation programmes that are on throughout the year. By doing this, we're championing the city centre while also encouraging an increase in visitation and spend for our businesses. Opportunities include: 

City Activation: 

Activating Vacant Tenancies 
Appealing and attractive properties are fundamental for a vibrant, successful retail environment. Our vacant spaces initiative provides the opportunity for creative installations or alternative use for vacant spaces, bringing life and colour to the city centre street environment, with support from Auckland Council and the city centre targeted rate. A great example of this is Arcadia at Queens Arcade. Events and Destination Marketing


Restaurant Month- August 2024
 Auckland's biggest and best dining celebration returned for its 13th year for the month of August to celebrate restaurants across the city centre with 100 special menus at $30, $45 and $55+ price points, one-off events and more. See the highlights here.

ArtWeek the City
An unmissable line-up of exhibitions, installations, pop-ups and activations in public spaces, laneways, galleries and more throughout the heart of the city in October. There is a strong focus on the High Street district.

All businesses that are members of Heart of the City can be listed in our Business Directory. This gives your business added visibility across online search engines. If you want to make any changes to your listing, contact us.

Business Listing on our consumer-facing website 
Businesses that are in the consumer categories we feature on our website can be listed on our consumer-facing website. To be listed, send your contact details, hours, a description of your business and hi-res photos to us via email

Social Media

Spreading the word about what's on and what's new across our social media channels
We post regularly on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and Twitter to highlight the many reasons to visit the city centre, including upcoming events and destination marketing.
