Madame Butterfly

One of the most popular of all operas, featuring the famous ‘Humming Chorus’ and ‘One Fine Day’, Puccini’s Madame Butterfly is an exquisite tale of longing and betrayal set in the Japanese city of Nagasaki around the turn of last century.
This new production stars Australian soprano Antoinette Halloran (Mimi in 2008’s La Bohème) as Butterfly with Italian tenor Piero Pretti as Pinkerton, Wellington mezzo soprano and current Freemasons Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist Bianca Andrew as Kate Pinkerton and English baritone Peter Savidge as Sharpless.
