Fingers celebrates 50 years in the city centre

2024 marks 50 years of Fingers Contemporary Jewellery in the city centre! We sat down with one of its founders (and practising artist) Alan Preston who told us the story of Fingers - how it came to be, his favourite memories and hopes for its legacy. From queues out their door in the 70s on Lorne Street to welcoming students and art lovers in their current location on Kitchener Street (opposite Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki) since 1987, Fingers continues to be a cornerstone for creativity.
