CBD Parking Changes In Effect

News story
Wednesday 14 Nov 2012
Parking in Auckland’s central city has just gotten cheaper and easier.

Heart of the City and Auckland Transport have worked together to make it simpler for people to park, with the new parking rates starting to take effect from Monday 19 November.

Parking Buildings
"$2 per hour off peak, $3 per hour at peak times”

If you’re going to be staying in the city for more than 2 hours, you should head to an AT parking building. For the 6 months from 19 November, it’ll only cost $3 per hour to park in the DowntownVictoria St and Civic parking buildings during peak times, and only $2 per hour off peak.

Weekdays before 5pm: $3 per hour
Weekday evenings: $2 per hour, $8 max per evening
Weekends: $2 per hour, $8 max per day

On-Street Pay and Display Parking*
"From only $1 per hour”

Parking prices in the central zones will be lower for stays of less than two hours, and if you're parking for less than 10 minutes you don't need to pay at all. If you want to stay longer though, now you can. There’ll be no time limits for Pay & Display parking so you can just pay for what you need.

Green and Yellow Zones

Saturdays: $1 per hour
Sundays and Evenings:Free

Blue Zone
