High Street Long Lunch
High Street is having its first ever Long Lunch on Friday 25th March and we would love your support. Our aim is to bring the local community together to celebrate the district's great food and retail environment by combining 300 people and 12 great local restaurants for the street party of the year!
Envisage one long table, seated on lush lawn laid down on High Street, with market umbrellas and live but intimate music. The lunch kicks off at 12.45pm and runs until 6.45pm in two parts. Part one is the Long Lunch and part two is Friday Drinks on the lawn and in Freyberg Square. We expect a crowd of 300-400 for the drinks part.
The primary purpose of the event is to help revitalise the High Street area. We are focusing the afternoon on the local community, the people who work, live and play in the area. We want to remind them what a great area they populate and be a stimulus to encourage their regular visitation to the area in the future. The event is endorsed by both the High Street Guild and Heart of the City.
