Santa Returns to Queen Street
Santa is back on Queen Street this Christmas. With thanks to Mansons TCLM Limited for funding and managing the installation and de-installation of Santa and reindeer on the new Farmers site, and to Skycity for their contribution to the storage costs.His installation will occur over the weekend of 13-15 November.
The following road closures and traffic management will be in place to accommodate this:
Friday 13 November: Santa’s Boots installed (3am – 5am). Traffic management in place from 2am – 7am. Access from Queen Street into Victoria St towards Bowen St closed.
Saturday 14 November: 3am – 1pm Access from Queen Street into Victoria St towards Bowen St closed and two lanes on Queen St will be closed – but there will be traffic access on Queen Street.
Sunday 15th November: 5am – 6pm Victoria St between Queen and High Streets completely closed and two lanes of Queen Street closed – but there will be traffic access on Queen Street.
Pedestrian and business access will be maintained at all times - there will be pathways created around the affected areas of footpath.
The De-installation details are:
Saturday 16th January, 2016: 3am – 1pm access from Queen Street into Victoria St towards Bowen St closed and 2 lanes on Queen St will be closed.
Sunday 17th January, 2016: 5am – 6pm Victoria St between Queen and High Streets completely closed and 2 lanes of Queen Street closed.
