September Quarter Results

News story
Friday 26 Oct 2012

HOTCity continues to perform well this year. Our BNZ Marketview data for the September Quarter shows that spending at HOTCity venues rose by 0.7% in the September quarter compared to the same time last year, with the overall 12 month results showing spending increasing by 6.1% vs the same 12 months a year ago. Conversely, our competitors experienced a drop of -3.1% in the September quarter, and -0.3% across the 12 months. We have also increased our market share by 0.9 share points for the September quarter, and 1.4 share points for the last 12 months when compared to the same time periods last year.

Our pedestrian counts show that over the course of the September quarter, counts were fairly static across all of the four sites that we monitor. September was the quietest month, with numbers down on average 7% from June (June and July were marginally the same across all sites). The pedestrian count figures do not match the trends identified in the September quarter spending results, which saw a -1.6%, 2.7% and 1.0% change across each respective month in the quarter when compared to last year.
