Upcoming Events and Road Closures
There are a number of events and upgrade works taking place in the city centre over the coming months that will bring road closures to specific surrounding areas.
ITU World Triathlon Series – Barfoot & Thompson World Triathlon Auckland
6 – 7 April
NB: Updates to Road Closures: There have been last minute changes to the cycle route
for the event on Sunday, meaning additional road closures for parts of
Queen St, Wakefield St, Mayoral Drive, Victoria St, Albert St and Customs St. Please see the triathlon website for full road closure information.
Queen Street Pit Stops, part of the ITM 400 V8 Supercar event
Thursday 11 April, 11am – 4pm
Road closures: Fort Street shared space (between Jean Batten Road and Queen Street) from 6am - 5pm
Parking restrictions: Parking will be restricted on Queen Street (eastern side only) between Vulcan Lane and Customs Street East to accommodate display cars.
Auckland Marathon
Sunday 3 November
Road closures: Yet to be announced, but the affected area will be around Wynyard Quarter and Fanshawe Street.
Upcoming works - traffic impact yet to be confirmed
The planned upgrade works for the second half of the year in O’Connell Street, Federal
Street and Khartoum Place will each bring associated road closures and changes to parking. We will communicate the dates and extent of these as they are confirmed.
