Heart of the City welcomes additional funding for safety

There's been a lot of effort to support improved safety in our city centre, including more police on the beat, a permanent police station opening soon, our own HOTC safety team and Auckland Council's compliance wardens. 

These efforts have translated into some positive results, with crime trending down and people telling us they are feeling safer. 

We’re pleased with the news that additional funding will be available from the Proceeds of Crime Fund to continue to support safety efforts here - and the recognition of how important the city centre is to the economy and as a safe place for tourists and locals to live, work and study. It’s important to keep up the level of focus and momentum to ensure that positive trends are maintained.
