Have your say on the City Centre Masterplan
This is a rare opportunity to get to the planning table and have some meaningful say on how we want our city centre to look and perform. We are knee deep in the process and will be developing up a position that we will share with you in the middle of June before we submit this to Council. Some of the things that we will be taking into consideration will be:
- What will be the doable projects that can be completed that can make a real difference to the economy of the CBD
- What are some of the smaller things that can’t be forgotten about
- The importance of heritage, transport and access
- What are the big projects that we should be aiming for e.g The CBD Rail Loop.
We would like to know your views on the future of the city centre
Before we develop our submission, we’d like to know your thoughts on the future of the city centre – ideas, and aspirations from a business perspective. A discussion document has been prepared to stimulate discussion - it identifies some specific ideas on projects and outcomes sought, as well as number of questions for feedback. Think about other cities around the world and what makes them successful and vibrant as well as economically successful. Ideas to consider could be:
- The importance of specific projects, such as the restoration of the St James Theatre
- The role of Queen Street in the future
- How can we create a city centre that is internationally renowned for business
- How can we make the city centre a great place to work, own property or do business in
- How can we create a city centre which is easily accessible
How can I give feedback on the plan?
Email us your ideas by Friday 3 June to info@hotcity.co.nz. We will take your feedback into consideration when developing our submission to council. Otherwise if wish to discuss it with us please contact Tania on 09 379 8000.
Alternatively, you can provide a feedback in the form of a submission on the plan directly to Auckland Council via their online form.
