Korean Culture in Auckland Festival is coming to the city centre in March

The Korean Culture in Auckland (KCAKL) event is coming to the High Street district between Friday 24 March until Friday 31 March as part of Auckland Council’s World of Cultures series. The event aims to celebrate Korean culture and will build on the success of K Festival, which has spent the past two years in West Auckland.

The main day of activity will be Friday 24 March with markets and a concert. There are also other activities planned at the Ellen Melville Centre throughout the rest of the week.  

Friday, 24 March 2023:

K- Street Food Market: Midday – 8 pm, O’Connell Street
This will be a multi-cultural celebration of food, with market stalls open to the public.

To support this, a road closure is planned for O’Connell St between 9 am and 10 pm on Friday, 24 March. Loading will need to take place prior to 9 am, or on Shortland Street/Chancery Street. 

K Street Market 5 pm– 10 pm, High Street
A Pan-Asian cultural celebration, with retail stalls open to the public.

To support this, a road closure is planned for High Street between 4 pm and 10 pm on Friday, 24 March. Loading /deliveries on the street can occur until 10:30 am on the day.

K- POP Concert: 6 pm - 9 pm, Freyberg Place
This outdoor concert will have a mixture of popular international K-Pop artists with support from local artists.
