Wynyard Quarter innovation precinct

As part of a wider transformation of Wynyard Quarter in partnership with council controlled organisation Panuku and alongside the development of a residential neighbourhood in the area, Precinct Properties are creating a commercial innovation precinct in four stages.

The innovation precinct spans just over a hectare, with a mix of existing character buildings being refurbished and new buildings being custom designed for the area with green design and innovation at the forefront. The precinct, designed by Warren and Mahoney, will offer a mix of eating and drinking destinations and retail to complement and service the largely commercial development.

Final stage

The final stage of Precinct's commercial development in Wynyard Quarter, two new office buildings situated at 117 Pakenham Street and 124 Halsey Street, is currently under construction. As of January 2022, there are applications with Auckland Council cranes on their sites and documents seeking clearance give an insight into what those businesses are doing. An article by the New Zealand Herald reports that Precinct’s crane will be up for up to 23 months, while Masons will be up for two years.

Stages one and two

Stage One of Wynyard Quarter's innovation precinct block, including Mason Bros. and 12 Madden, was completed in 2016 and 2017.

Stage Two of the innovation precinct, 10 Madden Street, providing another 8,290sqm of commercial space across eight floors (including one basement level), was completed in 2021.
