Safety in the city centre

If you need urgent police assistance please call 111. For any crime that has occurred, including theft please call 105. 

Ensuring the city centre remains a vibrant, enjoyable and safe place for people is important for the success of the city. This is a top priority for us.

Our Safety Team:
Security patrols are operating in Queen Street and surrounding areas to support a safer public environment. They will de-escalate issues, and escalate to Police when necessary

Need support from security?  Call 099 61 61 61 during their operating hours, which are currently 24/7

Monday - Sunday: 24Hrs (6am to 6am)

Delivered by Auckland Council and supported by Heart of the City. The on-street team undertakes proactive patrols and can help address issues of public nuisance such as obstruction in public places or antisocial behaviour, as well as monitoring busking, outdoor trading, illegal dumping and damage to public assets.

Have concerns about issues in public? Call Auckland Council on (09) 301 0101 so a job can be logged and a CityWatch guard can be sent out.
Weekdays: 7 am - 7:30 pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8 am - 4:30 pm
