Major events in the city over summer 17/18

This summer brings a number of exciting local and international events to Auckland's city centre and surrounds.

Events bring visitors to the city and create benefits for businesses and the wider city. Our city's Major Events Strategy, administered by ATEED, recognises the positive impact of events through econonic benefits, city branding, social wellbeing and legacy benefits. In the 2015/16 year, $43.7m of new GDP was created in Auckland through major events investment.

Some of these events may have an impact on businesses and residents in the immediate area. Where things like road closures, noise and access changes apply, event organisers are required to get in touch with those likely to be affected ahead of the event so they can plan how to manage these impacts. If you have any questions or concerns about event impact or need more information, please get in touch with us.
