Restaurant Month 2024 – get involved!
We’re excited to bring Restaurant Month back to the city centre between 1- 31 August 2024 and restaurants offering sit-down or table service within our boundary can get involved. A wrap-up of last year's Restaurant Month is here.
How businesses can take part in Restaurant Month 2024?
Put on a special menu
Businesses can design just a dinner menu, or both a lunch and dinner special menu/s priced at $30, $45 or $55+ per person. The menus can be different for lunch and dinner or remain the same. Businesses with multiple restaurants will need to make separate submissions for each venue.
World Choir Games, July 2024 – an additional opportunity
Restaurants that submit special menu/s for Restaurant Month can also opt to have the same menu/s offered to the 11,000+ international delegates who will be here participating in the World Choir Games, running in Auckland between 10-20 July.
If restaurants take part in both, their special menu/s will need to be available between 7 – 23 July 2024, as well as throughout the month of August.
The World Choir Games is the largest choral festival in the world. Around 250 choirs from more than 30 countries are set to perform in city centre venues including the Auckland Town Hall and Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre. We understand that the majority of the delegates will be staying in hotels across Auckland's city centre.
For the World Choir Games, special menu/s will only be promoted to delegates directly, via a bespoke printed map and microsite on heartofthecity.co.nz.
For Restaurant Month, the same menu/s will then be promoted as per previous years to a core Auckland audience via digital, print, billboards and more.
The following elements need to be considered when creating special menu/s:
- Is good value and unique to Restaurant Month.
- A minimum of two courses (entrée and main or main and dessert).
- A maximum of three options per course.
- Available on the days your restaurant is open and the duration of Restaurant Month 2024. (Plus, July 7-23, 2024, for the World Choir Games if you opt to participate).
- If you’re open in the evening, you are required to provide a dinner menu first – lunch is then optional.
- Include an alcoholic – or non-alcoholic drink match.
-
Procure for NZ & International wines
-
Roku Gin (Beam Suntory) for spirits
-
San Pelegrino for water and/or sparkling fruit beverages.
- Include high-res photos of your dishes (if available) with your submission.
- Please note that only the ingredients of special menus can be changed after submission. Not the price points.
-
Special menus need to be submitted online before Thursday, 5 pm, 30 May 2024 via the Restaurant Month portal here.
Submitting a special menu to be promoted during the event is the first step. After that, businesses can explore other opportunities to take part, such as:
