Driving visits and spend over the Christmas season
Our annual Christmas campaign is now underway, inspiring more people to shop and spend time in the city centre over the Christmas season.
The five-week campaign (18 November – 24 December) positions the city centre as the place to come to experience the magic of Christmas.
It highlights the diversity and uniqueness of the city centre's offer over the Christmas period, such as the ability to do Christmas shopping whilst also enjoying a spot of waterside dining, attending a Christmas event or just wandering the streets taking in the festive occasion.
The video above is an example of some of the campaign content, which also include still images, and which you can expect to see in Link buses, on city centre bus shelters (adshels), street posters, radio advertising, billboards and social media.
We also have editorial content supporting the campaign including Christmas gift guides, recommendations for Christmas catch ups and listings of the key events to look out for this year e.g. Christmas Smith & Caughey’s Christmas windows, Santa’s Enchanted Forest, the Queen Street Santa, Christmas at Silo Park, Summer in the Square, Markets at VPM, Late Night Christmas and more.
This year's Christmas campaign follows a successful Christmas 2018 campaign which saw spending during the campaign period increase by 2.6% when compared with the same period in 2017.
