WATCH: Our 'women's safety in the city' event with Uber and Women in Urbanism
Earlier this month Women in Urbanism Aotearoa, Heart of the City and Uber NZ came together to start the discussion on how we can create a safer Auckland.
This event discussed women's safety in the city and what could be done to improve it - with specific focus on the intersection of urban design, policing, street harassment and transport safety.
Speakers included Sara Bekhit and Emma McInnes from Women in Urbanism Aotearoa, Erica Stanford MP, Stacey van der Putten from Auckland Transport, Amanda Gilmore from Uber and Fatumata Bah from Inspiring Stories.
If you weren't able to make it - or if you're interested in this topic - here's a wrap up video of the event. (Look out for our Chief Executive Viv towards the end, sharing her thoughts on how we can keep building a safer, more inclusive environment in the city centre).
