Auckland’s central city streets, lanes, stores and shared spaces will come to life this February and March, with Heart of the City’s renowned 10 Days of Fashion in the City celebration back for the fifth year!
Downer will be carrying out road resurfacing works to Queen Street on the evenings of Feb 9-10 and 14 in advance of bus lanes installation in April. To accommodate these works the road will be closed, in stages, between Customs Street and Victoria Street.
Our annual celebration of retail and fashion returns next month. 10 Days of Fashion in the City takes place from 26 February until 6 March, with more than 100 offers and events including New Zealand’s Longest Catwalk and The Fashion Sessions giving customers even more reasons to come into the city to shop and spend time.
The 2016 programme will draw on the experience of a diverse range of urban transformers, city planners and street designers who will focus on a range of different issues that affect Auckland, with direct relevance to the city centre.
The overall growth of spending in the city centre up by +13.8% in the December quarter, versus growth of 4.4% at competitors, positions the city centre as a valued destination for tourists and Aucklanders.
